It has been a wee while since my last blog.  This has partly been down to the fact that our open-water swimming season started on the 17th of May, so a lot of my water time has been spent either swimming or safety boating for others.  I say “safety boating”, but it may be more accurately described as “safety SUPing”, as I have swapped my usual sit-on kayak for my Coreban SUP.  This has proven to be much easier for getting swimmers out of the water when they have been forced to stop, be it through old injuries re-appearing, or just fatigue.

As you can see, I don’t do all of the safety stuff on my own, but am accompanied by “Commander Stumpy”, who keeps a steady eye on the swimmers.
