click to see through Dean’s eyes: sight switch

January 2017

In April 2014, after some encouragement from my great mate Carl Sawyer, and with the help of the guys at Wilderness SUP, I bought my first stand up paddle-board, (SUP).  Little did I know then, but this was to become a huge part of my life.

Since 2014 I have taken on several SUP challenges and set myself lots of SUP adventures. On many of these paddles I was joined by people who I now consider to be very good friends and have visited some amazing places along the way. (You can read about the smaller paddles on this page, and the bigger ones on the main blog.)

After a couple of injuries in 2017 and 18, I have now started to mix things up, (sports, not mentally!), and have started to get into prone-boarding too. Like my SUP adventures, my small prone adventures will be listed below, and the bigger ones will go on the main blog. (All prone bits on this page will be listed as “- prone”.)

I have also had a lot of help from my sponsors, so I would like to take this opportunity to say a massive THANK YOU to them.  Your support has been, and continues to be, very much appreciated.

These sponsors have been a tremendous help in supplying kit and support for my challenges.
