August 2015

A fab day today at The Lothians Inaugural Downwind Race/Get Together.  A great bunch of paddlers, of varying levels.  The wind was in the right direction, and everyone had a lot of fun completing the 5 mile course from Portobello to Prestonpans.
Thanks to James Buchanan for putting the event together, and to Steve Williams for sharing out the flapjacks!
Thanks also to Peter Cockill who was my guide for the day, and also kept an eye on Rhona.  There were plenty of lumps, coming from more than one direction, but Rho did a great job on the biggest and messiest water she has ever paddled.  I think all of us “Easy Riders” at the back of the group had our skills tested!
